it impedes function a bit. true, the cord can potentally make it more difficult to move the mouse but i prefer corded mice anyway

I think the wireless technology is cool and all, but I think the only difference between 7 and 9 is the wireless tech which then is about $30. Besides, if you want performance, you'll want corded cause no matter what that will always have the fastest response time, even if it's not noticeable. Plus no battery, which will eventually loose its ability to hold a good charge after a while.
